Real Estate Appraiser Program Steps

  1. Start out as a Registered Appraiser at the apprentice level and do appraisals under the direct supervision of a licensed or certified appraiser.

  2. Become a Licensed Appraiser who may be accepted for 1-4 unit residential properties where the loan amount is $250,000 or less. Experience and additional course work required.

  3. Become a Certified Residential Appraiser who may be accepted for 1-4 unit residential properties regardless of loan amount or complexity, and non-residential property up to a $250,000 loan amount.

Real Estate Appraiser-Licensed Program Description

All relevant courses in the Real Estate Appraiser Program have been approved for either licensing, licensing upgrades, or continuing education by the Colorado Division of Real Estate and are college credited. The real estate appraisal courses are designed to give the student the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to function as a professional real estate appraiser. New courses developed by Hondros comply with the new education requirements commencing January 1, 2008 have also been approved by the Appraiser Qualifications Board.
