College of Design Industries
The College of Design Industries provides an assortment of hands-on and creative training opportunities for students to learn by doing what they love to do. Programs include Barbering, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Professional Baking, Cake Decorating, Esthetician, Floral Design, and Professional Sewing. Students practice and understand the skills necessary to be self-employed as well as work in a wide variety of industries.
Around since the 1920s, the Professional Sewing program has been nationally recognized and is enhanced with the most current industry-based techniques and standards. In 2012, longtime instructor Vicky Nolan was recognized as "Teacher of the Year" award from Colorado Association of Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences.
The cosmetology program has been awarded the best cosmetology program in the state. Students sitting for the Cosmetology, Barbering, and Esthetician State exams have a pass rate that equals or exceeds the average rate for the State of Colorado.
