To get on the wait list for spring courses, complete the school application and reading assessment test and request at the Registration Center that your name be added to the Phlebotomy wait list.
Classes meet 5-10 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for five weeks. Week 6 is a daytime M-F 8 a.m.-5 p.m. clinical.
Colorado resident tuition: $570 including clinical. Out-of-stateresident tuition: $1070 including clincal.
Course Description
Course covers duties associated with the practice of venipuncture, capillary puncture and special collection procedures. Also includes experience with quality control, infection control and safety procedures as well as laboratory computer systems. Students successfully completing this course and clinical may apply for a National Phlebotomy Registry Examination. Exam cost is $99.
Students must have at the first class a portfolio including the following documentation: high school diploma or GED, TB test-$15, Hep B vacination series 1 and 2, measles/mumps/rubella vacination, background check-$59 and CPR certification.

Steps to get started:
Complete an application online or in person at the Registration Center at the school.
Complete the free reading assessment/entrance test in room 205 at the Emily Griffith. Reading requirement is 10.0 or higher TABE D score. No appointment necessary. Walk-in test times are Tuesday and Wednesday 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. and Monday, Thursday and Friday 8 a.m.-noon.
Register and pay for courses EMSS 5001 and EMSS 5002. A payment plan is available for a $20 fee allowing you to make two payments of $295 for Colorado residents, two payments of $895 for non-Colorado residents. Both payments are due prior to the first class.
Complete background check for phlebotomy at American DataBank 303 573-1130 or www.healthcareEx.com for $59 and TB test available through your healthcare provider or Denver Health Center, 605 Bannock, for $15. Bring both verification documents to first class.
