In July this year, practical nursing program faculty Dyan Lewis, RN, Kathryn Marriott, RN, and Cheryl McCain, RN attended a 5-day intensive clinical scholar course offered by the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence. Although each instructor has many years experience as both nurse and teacher they each received advanced training in:

1. How to plan and manage a successful clinical rotation 2. How to identify student learning styles, and how to work with each type of student 3. Legal and ethical issues that guide the clinical role 4. The role of technology in teaching and learning 5. How to handle difficult situations
