Emily Griffith Adult High School

This program is offered as part of Emily Griffith High School. Adults (age 21 and older) may enroll in the high school and complete courses to earn a high school diploma.

Tuition

Tuition fees are $150.00 per course, per semester. Books may be checked out for $25.00 each. Students are eligible for a $20.00 refund if their book is returned in good condition. Any student losing or destroying a textbook will be charged the actual cost of the textbook. Transcripts, diploma, records, etc. will not be released until a student's account is paid in full. If a student does not wish to pay the book deposit, a classroom copy will be available to complete assignments, but not allowed to be taken home.

Day Diploma Classes
All daytime classes (every subject) are offered Monday through Friday from 8am - 2pm. All daytime classes are taught in 50 minute periods (e.g. 8am - 8:50am, 10am - 10:50am)

Evening Diploma Classes
Evening classes are offered in two-hour blocks, Monday through Thursday 5pm - 9pm.

Monday and Wednesday: 5pm - 7pm and 7pm - 9pm
Tuesday and Thursday: 5pm - 7pm and 7pm - 9pm

Enrollment process:

Take an Assessment: Students must take the Reading portion of the test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) and must earn a minimum grade equivalent score of 7.0 (seventh grade reading level). Assessment provided in room 205, Emily Griffith Technical College. Assessment Hours of Operation
Transcript Evaluation: Fax (720-423-4809) or bring in a copy of your high school transcript. Include your phone number. We will call you to discuss your transcript evaluation. Students must earn 160 high school credits to earn the Emily Griffith High School diploma. Students must complete a minimum of two Emily Griffith High School classes to earn our diploma. Credit requirements are as follows:
Language Arts
40 semester credits
Mathematics
20 semester credits
Social Studies
30 semester credits
Science
20 semester credits
Electives
50 semester credits
Total Credits: 160
Register for course(s):Fall course registration takes place the second week in October and spring course registration takes place the first week in February. Please call the day or evening counselor (listed below) to schedule a time to register and pay for your course(s).
Pay for course(s):All courses must be paid in full before the start date. The treasurer's office will accept cash, money order, or a credit card. They will not accept a personal check.
Course Completion Timeline:Students will have one semester (fall or spring) to complete all of the courses for which they are registered. If a course is not completed by the end of the semester, the student must pay for a new semester ($150.00) to complete the course. (Tuition fee is subject to change and will not be reimbursed after the start date of the course)
Graduation Ceremony:Adult students may choose to participate in a graduation ceremony in January or June.
