Emily Griffith High School

The Emily Griffith High School is a drop out retrieval program offering courses toward the completion of a high school diploma. The school is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (CASI) and through the Denver Public Schools (DPS) which authorizes the regular high school diploma. Entrance requirements for Emily Griffith High School:

  • Reading level assessed at 7th grade or higher;

  • High school dropout of at least two to four months;

  • Transcript from former accredited high school.

Emily Griffith Adult High School

This program is offered as part of Emily Griffith High School. Applicants over 21 must meet with a high school counselor to schedule day or evening academic courses necessary to complete the high school diploma. A minimum of two class credits must be earned at EGOS (These classes have a nominal fee). Call 720-423-4760 for further information.

High School Career/Technical Courses

High school juniors and seniors may receive regular high school credit for vocational courses offered at EGOS. Credit hours vary with the number of periods per day in which a student is enrolled. Any junior or senior enrolled in high school who is interested in vocational courses should apply through the guidance counselor in his/her high school. GED Preparation (CAL/GED) (Age 17-21)

The Computer Assisted Learning Lab in room 225 offers software programs to help students, 17 to 21 years of age, improve basic skills as well as to prepare students to take the GED. Skills covered are reading/vocabulary building, writing, and math. Students are assessed before placement in the lab. The lab is open during the day Monday through Friday and in the evening Monday through Thursday.
