Medical Assisting Program

The Medical Assisting Program is a multi-skilled health profession. Principal components of the program include general medical knowledge and skills, communication skills, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and those skills specifically related to the medical assisting profession, both administrative and clinical. The administrative duties include, but are not limited to, making appointments, coding and filing insurance claims, accounts payable/receivable, handling correspondence, and arranging for hospital admissions. Additional costs, which are not included in the tuition include books, uniform, watch with sweep second hand. An extensive supervised externship is provided. Skills for employment in physicians' office or clinic, including front and back office duties. Prepares students for taking the Registered Medical Assistant Exam
