Emily Griffith Opportunity School was recognized by the Denver Womens Commission on their 25 year anniversary.
The Denver Womens Commission celebrated 25 years of accomplishments with past, present, and future commissioners, partner and supporting organizations, local businesses, and city officials.
Emily Griffith, founder of Opportunity School, is among the list of women who have helped shape our state and the nations history with courage, leadership, intelligence, compassion, and creativity. She is among the women who have made a major impact on the lives of others and helped to elevate the status of all people in our state, our nation, and, some, around the world.

Emily Griffith Opportunity School was honored by the Denver Womens Commission at its 25th Anniversary event in September. Colorado State Treasurer, Cary Kennedy, presented the award to Emily Griffith Opportunity School for creating programs that enhance the opportunities for the advancement of women in Denver. Hosted by Anne Trujillo of KMGH Channel 7, the event celebrated 25 Years of the Denver Womens Commission with past and present commissioners, partner and supporting organizations, elected officials, and local businesses. The Denver Women's Commission has worked to enhance the quality of life in Denver for women and men since 1984. The commission recognizes the importance of education and has taken this opportunity to honor one of the great educational institutions in Denver Emily Griffith Opportunity School.
