Academic Advising

Not sure about a course? Having problems in a course? Academic advisors serve as coordinators of the students’ educational experiences. Helping students define realistic educational goals, advisors assist students in planning a program consistent with their abilities, interests, and career goals. In addition, they assist students in monitoring their educational progress.

Students should schedule an appointment with an advisor prior to each course registration period. Students are expected to be knowledgeable of program requirements as outlined in the catalog. To schedule an appointment with your academic advisor please call: 720-423-4712.

Want to sit in a class before you commit to the program? Visitor’s passes are available to prospective students wishing to observe one class session free of charge. For information, check with an advisor or counselor. Out of courtesy, the school requests that visitors wait until a break or the end of class to speak with the instructor.

Special Needs and Disabled Students

Programs are open to special needs and disabled students. Services, provided by the special needs counselor, include: educational advising, scheduling full and part-time training courses, working with outside agencies, counseling with students on individual concerns, coordinating with instructors and other personnel, assisting with job placement, and assisting with class and curriculum accessibility.

Accommodations will be provided upon request. Documentation may be required. A person with a disability who requires an accommodation to participate in any class, program, service, or other activity should contact the special needs counselor at least three weeks prior to the scheduled activity.

The special needs counselor is available in Room 215B or by calling 720-423-4742.
