Automotive Technician

The Automotive Technicianis a master certified program through the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). The program, along with actual work experience in the automotive repair field, prepares the student to be certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) a Master ASE Technician. The ASE certification program has eight areas of completion including:

electrical systems
engine repair
engine performance
heating and air conditioning
brakes, steering and suspension
manual drive train
automatic transmissions

Certificates are given for successful completion of each area separately and a master completion certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete all eight areas (Automotive Technician).This program prepares the student with the skills necessary for employment as an entry-level automotive technician. Upon completion of the program students are prepared to take ASE certification tests.
